“Miggy, bilangin mo nga ‘yung fan,” I asked Miguel to count the fan he collected from the closet.
“One… Two…” he began.
I was waiting for the next number when Evelyn saw my face, “Huwag ka na umasa! Hangang dun lang ‘yun?”
“Bakit di mo tinuruan si Miggy magbilang!?” I scolded my sister back in Dubai, “Hangang two lang!”
“Hindi, Che, madali lang talaga ‘tong poker,” I assured Che.
“Baka mahirap, manonood na lang ako,” she answered.
“Hindi! Sumali ka!” I told her.
After a few question and answers and some rounds where she started winning, Ness approached, “Che, nasan ‘yung papel na hinihingi ko sa’yo?”
“Ness, huwag ka munang magulo! Nagsusugal ako!” Che screamed.
At the Maroon 5 concert, during the last part of the song Stutter (which Atong and Ronald do not know the lyrics), Adam Levine asked the audience to sing with him “Stutter, Stutter…”
The audience blasted, “Stutter… You Make Me… Stutter!”
Ronald asked Atong, “Anong sasabihin?”
“Surot ba?”
“Parang Zorro.”
Since Ness and Anj‘s birthday celebration will fall on a Good Friday, I their housemates, “Naku, bawal alak!”
“Oo,” they answered, “Wala.”
“Wala ring pork.”
“Wal rin.”
“Saka dapat ‘di maingay,” I told them.
“Oo ‘di tayo masyado mag-iingay,” they answered.
Because Ness can’t help to scream on a regular conversation, I asked them, “Eh saan n’yo itatago si Ness?”
“Orlee, what did you get us?” my team mates asked me.
“Ummm… extra hands for work, a lighter job… Taking away some tasks assigned to you,” I answered.
“Fair enough.”
“Bakit kayo umiiyak?” I asked my nieces as I was about to go back to Dubai, “Kasi aalis na ako?”
“Hindi, Tito,” they all answered, “Kasi wala na kaming driver.”
“Yun lang ba ako sa inyo?” I asked angrily.
“Saka wala nang magandang laptop.”
Since Nanay forgot to say goodbye to her ‘friend’ kapre on our Mango Tree, she told me, “Anak, itapat mo nga sa tuktok ng punong mangga yung camera.”
“Ok,” I positioned the Macbook and told her, “Ayan na ho, Nay!”
“Kaibigan, ikaw na bahala sa bahay ha? Bantayan mo. Di na ako nakapagpaalam sa’yo…” and Nanay went on talking to her friend.
“Choy!” she screamed.
“Bakit ho?” I asked.
“Tapos na. Ok na kami.”
“Sosyal naman kayo ng kaibigan n’yo, nag-i-iSkype!”
“Guys, order lang ng order ha?” I told them.
“Wow! Ang yaman,” my friends commented.
Instead of telling them ‘Sky’, I answered, “One thousand’s the limit! One thousand’s the limit.”
“Isang pizza, nachos, buffalo wings, saka Margarita,” Dudz ordered.
“Gusto ko ng soup. Ok lang mag-soup?” Agnes asked.
“Sige order lang ng order,” I answered.
When all the orders came, the waiter couldn’t contain himself and asked, “Ayus rin ang combination ng order n’yo ah.”
While the waiter was walking away, Agnes commented, “Wala kang pakialam kung gusto ko ng soup sa Margarita.”
Alis na agad ang hangover ko hindi pa ako nalalasing.
