The Most Beautiful Starbucks in the Philippines

On our way to our wedding venue in Batangas, Tem, who was driving at the time, told us, “Kuya, gusto n’yo pumunta yung pinaka-magandang Starbucks sa Pilipinas?”
Being the big coffee lover that she is, Mitch exclaimed, “Sige!”
I was not convinced and asked my sister, “Baka naman inuuto mo lang kami ha?” It would of course be our treat if we stop by.
Tem laughed at the idea and told us, “Oo nga!”
“Oo nga! Bahala ka!” she answered while laughing.

“Baka naman mamaya sabihin mo, nandito rin sa Tagaytay ang ‘Most Beautiful Jollibee branch’ ha?” I followed up.

Grandparents Day at Starbucks

When Maricar and I hung out in the newly opened Starbucks in Dasmarinas (near our former college), we saw the crowd (college students) and told ourselves: Gawd, we’re so old.

“I feel like a lola,” she told me after we ordered.
“Haha! Isipin mo na lang mas marami tayong pera,” I told her.
“At sweldo natin ang pera natin. Hindi na hingi sa magulang,” she followed.

2011 Starbucks Planner for Me 2

Aside from Z getting LBM out of my Christmas gift, her brother also suffered from the Starbucks overload:

“Tara alis tayo! Libre kita?” Z asked her brother.
“Saan!?” he asked cheerfully.
“Ayoko na sa Starbucks. Masakit na tyan ko.”

2011 Starbucks Planner for Me

“Huwag ka nang malungkot, Orlee,” Zinnia told me before she went home to Manila.
“Ang lungkot kaya nun! Wala akong kausap na Pinoy dito sa office tapos Pasko pa! Shet! Homesick!” I told her.
“Huwag kang mag-alala. Uuwian kita ng Starbucks Planner.”

After a week or two…

“Orlee! Nag-e-LBM na ako sa Toffeenut Frapuccino ‘di pa kumpleto ang stickers! Lagi kaming nasa Starbucks para makuha ang planner. May two weeks pa ako.”
Being the sadistic friend that I am, I told her “Z! Wala kang choice, pangako mo ‘yan. Hehe.”

Shoe Sale

“Sobrang init daw ngayon sobrang mura na raw ng sapatos sa Pilipinas,” Ronald told me.

“Ha? ‘Pano?” I asked him.

“Kasi lahat gusto tsinelas na lang suot ngayon, sa mga gimikan, mga Starbucks – ganun!” he answered with confidence.

“Eh dati pa naman ganun eh,” I told him.

“Kasi ‘di ba dati mga sosyal lang mga nag-fi-flip flops ngayon kahit masa na,” my Better Friend answered.

“Ahhhhh, ngayon lang ba sa inyo na uso ‘yun? Dati pa kasi uso sa amin ‘yun eh,” I answered.
