Havaianas for Christmas

Tem, my sister, requested me to give her Havaianas for Christmas. I bought the idea but she also requested an expensive car seat for her son, Miguel, from me. So I told her, “Tem, Havanas (the fake ones) na lang regalo ko sa’yo, mahal ang car seat eh.”

She then said, “Naaay… Kuya kohhhh…. Nangako ka nang Havaianas ang regalo mo sa akin eh.”

I then tapped the mother in her heart, “Sabi nga nung kaibigan ko, pag nanay ka na… kahit para sa anak mo lang ang regalo, kahit wala ka, masaya ka na.”

She seems not to have heard me and argued, “Akala ko pa naman magkaka-Havaianas na ako. Pangarap kong magkaganung tsinelas eh. Sige na kuya!” she insisted.

“Ibibili nga kita! HAVANAS!” I screamed back.

“Ayoko na ng Havanas! Marami na akong Havanas! Tatlong klase na! Iba’t ibang kulay. Gusto mo ba? Bibigyan pa kita!”
