Ina Ka

I asked Z why was she on leave on the first day after the Eid Holidays.
“Yaya ako ngayon,” she answered.
“Z, hindi ka yaya. Ina ka,” I replied.
“Parang minura pala kita,” I realized.
“Akala ko nga rin yun ang sinabi mo.”

Don’t Sing In the Lift

Me, alone in the office elevator, singing, “I’M AT A PAYPHONE! TRYING TO GO HOME! ALL OF MY CHANGE I’VE SPENT ON YOU!!!!” while listening to my iPod.
Static sound… (it was the elevator intercon)… “Any problem?” It was the building security.
“No problem,” I answered.
“I heard screaming.”
“No problem.”

Happy Easter!

Today is the first day back to work from the long 4-day weekend.
I had the laugh of my life when I read an auto-reply from one of our clients.

“Thank you for your email. Our office will be closed today in celebration of Easter Sunday. We will come back to work on Tuesday. Happy Easter!”

It’s Eid al Fitr. Not Easter.

Is it Easter already?

Kramer vs Kramer: Horror

“Napanood mo na yung KRAMER VS KRAMER?” I asked Bing. I was referring to the award winning drama that chronicles the custody battle between a former husband and wife; hence, Kramer vs Kramer.

“Ay! Alam mo namang ayoko ng mga ganyang horror,” Bing answered.
“Hindi yun horror!”
“Ay! Ano nga ba yung horror?”
Freddie vs Jason!” I answered.

“Baka eto yun, Bing?”

Dictation Function of OSX Mountain Lion

We were trying to book our hotel reservations for our European tour and we needed to encode “PARIS” in the destination city in one hotel website.
Instead of typing P-A-R-I-S, I have used the new OSX Mountain Lion feature: Dictation (A Siri-like program). I pressed fn thrice and the option to speak popped up. I told my computer, “PARIS”.

I was expecting a “Wow! Hightech!” comment from Ness, Patrick and Anj but their comment was, “ANG TAMAD!”
Oh! Technology! You’ve have become passé!
