Jervin went to the Toilet

In a close-knit group like our choir, we have a motto… “TALO ANG PIKON.”

Today, one member went to the toilet while everybody was vocalizing.

“Si Jervin?”

It was too obvious that he was not there so one screamed, “Nagtoilet.”

“Tumae!”

When he arrived, everybody screamed, “Ambaho! Yuck! Ewww.”

He stood up and told everyone, “Hindi ba kayo mga tumatae?!”

The Craft in 2018

We were rewatching The Craft tonight and we asked JV, “Hindi mo pa to napanood?”

“Kelan po ba yan pinalabas?” He asked.

“1996.”

“Ay kakapanganak ko pa lang ho nyan,” he answered.

“Bastos ka!”

Matatanda Beliefs

There was an argument last night over how cutting hair makes it thicker.

“Hindi nga yan totoo,” I told them.

“Yun kasi ang sabi ng matatanda,” they said to me.

“Nasan na yan matatanda na yan?” I asked them, “Patay na di ba?”

Ode to Sugar Container

Working for 10 years in the company together, Zinnia and I would kid each other, “Lahat ng mga kasabay natin umalis na. Yung lalagyanan na lang ng asukal ang tanging di nappalitan kasabay natin.”

Lo and behold…

Even the sugar container has been replaced!

“Goodbye batchmate. You’ve tried hard but you didn’t make it.”

Doorflix

“Dahan dahan naman sa pag-sara ng mga pinto, Ate,” Ronald told his sister.

“Hindi ako yun,” denied ate Weng.

“Narinig ko eh — DAGAAANG!”

“Baka naman Netflix yun,” Mitch interjected.

We all laughed.

Eto ba charger ng MacBook?

I laughed so hard to my wife’s message.

“Hindi! Hahahaha!” I replied.

“Parang maluwag kasi.”

Basha Forever

“Done na car loan ko today,” I told Ronald.

“Congrats!” He answered.

“Bili na ako ng new car.”

“Hindi siguro,” he laughed objectingly, “Ikaw pa?! Kahit kakarag-karag na yan di mo yan papalitan.”

He knows me too well.

Tem Beating the Red

While driving in Pasig City, my sister beat the red light and unfortunately for her, Pasig police stopped her.

“Ma’am license po.”

“Pasensya na po, Sir. Pauwi na po kasi kami dyan po bahay namin.” Dyan was of course the condominium unit my Ate Richie owns in the Maybunga area.

The police looked at her license and told her, “Ay sige po Ma’am. Ginagawa lang po ang trabaho namin. Pasensya na po sa abala.”

My sister connected the dots. Our middle name is shared by Pasig City’s Mayor’s last name and dyan might have been thought as ‘kamag anak ni Mayor’. My sister then told the policeman, “Ano po name nyo sir? Sige po! Salamat po.”
