I asked my Indian colleague, “Have you seen that Bollywood movie?”
“Which one?” he asked.
“The one with the dancing and singing?” I was pulling his leg
“ALL BOLLYWOOD MOVIES have dancing and singing,” he answered.
“The ghosts sing and dance.”
“The hero dances.”
“How about drama?” I finally asked.
“There will be a sing and dance sequence… even in drama.”
“Hanapin mo yung pelikula ni Dingdong! Yung horror! Ipakita natin kay Atong,” Ronald told me and Atong. He was referring to the new movie Aswang Chronicles.
I joked around and searched ‘Dingdong Movie’ and found this and showed it to them.
“Sabi mo Dingdong!”
“Avanzado yan! DANTES!”
“Z, parang gusto ko bumili ng Segway,” I told my colleague.
I asked my mom today after seeing Aki’s photo on Facebook.
“Galing Japan yun! Padala ng mama nya,” Nanay answered.
“Magaling nga sya eh.” I commented.
Since we’ll be taking a lot of train rides across Europe and I wanted my travel-mates to be encouraged, I showed them this photo from Pinterest #EuroTrain:
“Parang Harry Potter!” Ronald exclaimed, “Magdadala ako ng parrot?”
“Parrot!” Atong laughed, “Owl yung sa Harry Potter!”
Since we are planning to go to Europe this fall, I told my friends, “Oy, bawal ang tanga dun! Baka manakawan tayo dun.”
And to that Ness answered, “Ay!”
We all asked, “Worried?”
