I received the mass draft for the wedding but I only looked at it – looked at it at the event itself.
I was sitting already at the Commentator side with all of my other friends already watching the bridal procession when I browsed thru the mass booklet (with all my responses marked for me)…
“Amen? Ah-men? Ey-men?” I asked myself. I usually say Ahhh-men but this is Forbes Park so I think I’ll say, “Ey-men.” That was clear.
I read thru the names of the veil, candle and cord people, and realized it’s pretty normal.
I was reading thru everything… then BAM! I saw the English word for ARAS! Arrhae! HOW. DO I. READ. THAT?
I panicked as I had no one to ask. I gambled when I reached that part… Ahh-reyyy. When the priest repeated the word (with the same pronunciation), a big sigh of relief was almost heard by the whole church.
PRONUNCIATION… BAD ASS
