Violin Wars

18 Jun

Atong and Ronald‘s friend joined my choir here in Dubai: Jean. She said she can sing and play the violin.

After she sang for her audition, Joy, the musical director, asked her, “O sige. Mag-play ka na rin ng violin.”
“Pati yun i-o-audition?” Jean asked.
“Syempre,” Joy answered.
“Wala akong violin,” she looked at Crisel, our choir’s violinist.
Joy asked Crisel, “Peram?”
“Ay, wala akong violin,” Crisel jokingly answered, while trying to hide her musical instrument.
“Ay may ugali na oh!” We all screamed, “Ayaw ma demote.”
When Crisel finally handed her violin she said, “Wala pala akong bow,” but she still handed it.
Jean blushingly received the violin, “Thank you. Ano kaya ang tutugtugin ko?…. Ay wait, wala yata sa tono,” she noticed.
The choir reacted, “Matagal na palang wala sa tono yung violin oh!”
“Sinadya ko talagang maliin ang tono para magkamali s’ya,” Crisel smiled bitchingly.
