Hourly Group Pic

During birthdays, it’s nice to see group pictures and check who came and decided to celebrate with you on your special day.
Pat and I knew that our guests will come in batches so we have decided on an hourly Group Pic…

Like New Year’s Eve, everybody waited for the top of the hour and counting down the minutes so that we can finally hold a group picture.

“Kunyari pa kayong Group Pic everyhour! Gusto n’yo lang naman i-remind ang bisita n’yo na ‘HOY ALAS DOSE NA!’” My sister commented.
“Actually, gusto naming makita kung sino ang pinaka-matagal nag-stay. Pag naka-3 group pic ka ibig sabihin kanina ka pa nandito,” I answered.

 

White Party

Since our birthdates are close to each other, four of my friends have decided to celebrate it via a 4-way Birthday House Party.

All our guests were requested to wear white, while we all 4 wore red.

So when other guests were not aware who were the celebrators, they just had to check who else was wearing red.

“Naka-red ka rin? Happy Birthday!” One unknown guest greeted me.

 

Kangaroos

Patrick gave Ronald new shoes for his birthday: Kangaroos Rubber Shoes.
While opening the gift,  he saw the spelling of his new shoes and screamed, “Fake! Dalawa ang ‘O’! Di ba dapat isa lang?”
We all screamed, “Ano ‘yun Kangaro? Helloo?”

 

Pat’s First Ash Wednesday

Being his first ASH WEDNESDAY in Dubai, Patrick asked, “May cotton buds?”
“Oo,” I answered, “First time mo nga pala!”
“Akala ko payat lang ang daliri nung naglalagay.”
“Ano ‘yun? Alien?”

P3k: Mukhang sa Kish ang bagsak namin ni Tin ha? (Pat and Tin needs to exit Dubai for Tin’s visa process)
Marish: Sama!
P3k: E to E lang din. Baka hindi ko kailangan bumaba ng eroplano. Hehe.
Bing: Anong E to E?
Marish: Parang ang labas nagsayang ka lang.
P3k: No choice. Wala din naman makikita sa Kish di ba?
Orlee: Pat, Starbucks Iran ko ha? (mug)
P3k: Cge if meron starbucks sa eroplano.
Ronald: Eirport to eirport Patrick? Sana di ka mablog.
Bing: Yun nga! Hahaha.
Ronald: Hayaan mo na Bng first time ni Pat.
P3k: Hoy hindi naman ako nagsabi ng eirport ha?
Ronald: A to A kasi. Hindi E to E. Hehehe.
P3k: E sabi ni Liezl E to E eh (travel agent). Malay ko ba. Hehe.

My Bookstore is Confused

I received this text message from Magrudy’s last week:

“Magrudy’s 35th Birthday Celebration Continues: 35% off everything @ Deira City Centre & Dubai Mall. Starts Jan 20 for a limited period only. “

I immediately told all of my blackberry buddies, “Guys, punta tayo?”
Pat and Tin shopped some Murakamis and a coffee book table.
I contemplated whether to buy 2 or 4 books but since I’m a slow reader lately, I’ve decided to just buy one Nick Hornby and one Mitch Albom.

This week, I’ve received a new message from Magrudy’s:

“Magrudy’s 50% off everything plus special prices starting at AED 2. From Jan 28 at Deira City Centre & Dubai Mall for a limited period.”

I cursed after reading this and forwarded to Patrick. His only reply was a simple, “Kainis!”
I immediately posted something on the Magrudy’s Fan Page.

My only consolation to myself is that I only bought 2 instead of 4 books. Grrrr…

 

1st Marathon Experience

I joined the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon for the first time. I signed up for the 3K – Fun Run.

More than half a dozen of my friends also joined in while some even took the bigger challenge of the 10K.

So apparetly, I went for the 3k…

Since I’m new to the heavy metal scene, I asked Patrick what to wear on our Guns N’ Roses concert.

Wrong Tongue Move

Patrick tried this thing from a store in Mirdiff City Centre where you stick anything and takes your shape. He put his tongue out and stuck it to his face. Here it is:

Then he said, “Kawawa naman ang susunod na gagamit. Hahaha!”
Ronald then said, “Eh Pana ang unang gumamit n’yan eh.”
Patrick just realized how dirty it could have been.

Courier and Dishwasher

“Mamaya ko dadalhin ang mga padala ng nanay at kapatid mo sa bahay mo mamaya,” Patrick told me thru YM. He  just came back from the Philippines.
“Ok. Pasensya na kung madami ha?” I felt quite embarrassed as  my mom sent quite a lot of tapa, longganisa and other preserved fish.
“Ok lang. Konti lang naman ang dala ko eh,” he answered.
“Sabagay, ikaw rin naman ang kakain n’yan,” I told him. Not that I’m complaining but Pat drops quite every night on our flat.
“So hindi na ako maghuhugas ng plato?” as a great host, I allow my guests to feel as if my home is their home which means: they have to wash their own plates after meal.
“Ummm….Hindi. Maghuhugas ka pa rin.”
