When we were about to leave from Pearly’s place after the “Palabok Party“, Ness asked, “Ate Pearl, totoo ba yang phone mo?”
“Hinde! Paper weight!” I answered.
“Napakayabang mo!” She screamed.
“Eh bakit naman sya maglalagay ng ganyan sa bahay nila kung di gumagana?”
After last week’s choir audition, Ness told Ronald, Ela, Rollie and me, “Punta tayo kina Ate Pearly nagluto sya ng palabok.”
“Ha?! Naku nakakahiya naman…” I answered.
“Hindi ok lang yun. Nag-invite kasi sya sa amin syempre sama na kayo,” she answered.
“Hindi. Hindi kami. Si Rollie. Di naman kasi sya kilala ni Pearly. Ibaba na lang natin sya sa bahay.”
Palabok Party
Ness and I were playing the new game app Draw Something she has sent this drawing.
The answer for this “drawing” is Horton… and the drawing is supposed to be the Canadian flag with two cups of coffee to represent the Canadian coffee chain.
“Kelan pa naging horizontal ang red bars ng Canadian flag?” I asked Ness.
“Ay bakit? Mali ba?” she asked.
“Oo!”

Rose, still new in UAE, came with Ness go to Mercato Mall last Thursday.
Ness left Rose for quite sometime as she needs to check out something.
When Ness was finally done, she called Rose on her mobile.
Unfortunately for Rose, for some weird reason the name that appeared on her mobile was not Ness but Nora, her friend.
Ness: Ate Rose, saan ka?
Rose: Dito sa Mercato Mall sa Jumeirah.
Ness: Oo nga! Alam ko. Nandito ako, di ba?
Rose: Nandito ka rin?
Ness: Magkasama tayo! Ate, si Ness to!
During Atong and Ron’s birthday party celebration, Ronald and Ness spoke to Joy, my Dubai Choir’s musical director and learned that they are all from the same area in Quezon City.
“Orlee! Ibang level talaga laming magkakapitbahay nina Teacher Joy,” Ness bragged.
“Ganun ba yun? Depende ba sa kapitbahay kung sosyal ka?” I asked Ness.
“Syempre naman,” she answered.
“So ibig sabihin, si Ramona Bautista level ko rin?”
“Oo ganun level mo,” she agreed, “Killer ng kapatid.”
Ness woke up to the sad news that bombarded cyberspace yesterday morning, “Steve Jobs is dead.”
Anj told her this even after she already read the tweets first thing she opened her eyes, “Patay na si Steve Jobs.”
“Oo nga,” she answered not knowing who this STEVE JOBS was.
On her way to work she thought to herself, “Saan kayng bansa presidente si Steve Jobs? Leader kasi nakalagay sa mga tweets.” We laughed so hard but deep inside, I felt the sadness. #iSad… He was somehow a hero for me. An alpha nerd as you may put it.
