Ronald and I were discussing about how family always come first.
He said, “Di ba nga, ‘Blood is thicker than butter.’”
After settling inside Ronald asked, “Bakit ganun ang sabi mo? Bakit Tagalog? Dapat English.”
Someone asked, “Paano dapat?”
“Dapat, ‘Who are you? Strangers! Strangers! Keep it up!” Ronald suggested.
We were practicing “We Are One” earlier in our choir practice when somebody asked, “Pwede ba ‘to sa communion?”
Some said yes.
Some said no. I was the one who said no but Nhike, beside me, told me, “Pwede. Kasi may binanggit silang word na Lord sa kanta.”
“So sa kantang OMG ni Usher, pwede na rin sa communion? Kasi may God ‘yun?”
After someone raising the pot, Ronald screamed, “Akala mo ‘di ko papatulan ‘yan? Whoever!”
“You mean whatever?” One of us asked.
“Hindi! Kahit sino pa s’ya — Whoever! Di ko s’ya aatrasan,” he defended.
“It makes sense. It. Makes. Sense.”
“Oh Ness ikaw na ang maghugas ng plato,” I told Ness, “Hindi ako pwede maghugas kasi namalantsa ako kanina.”
“ANO!? ANO!? EXCUSE ME?” she was protesting as she have already cooked and prepared the table setting.
“Sabi ng nanay ko dapat daw 4 hours after mamalantsa lang pwede magbasa ng kamay eh 6 na ako natapos mamalantsa,” Anj and Ness knew I was lying because I finished my ironing by 4 PM.
“Excuse me? 5 PM nandito na ako!” Anj screamed, “Kanina ka pa tapos mamalantsa!”
