When Tem was still working as a Fish Host in Mahi-Mahi Seafood Restaurant here in Dubai…
“Roxane!?” a customer recognized her.
“Yes, Ma’am!?” Tem assumed the customer saw her nameplate.
“Roxane!? Ako si Clarice! Sa Delpa! (Del Pilar Academy – a high school in Imus, Cavite)”
Tem was shocked. The world is indeed small. She never thought that a person from our hometown in Imus would suddenly appear in Dubai.
The other shocker was that this Clarice knew her and she have no clue who she is… plus she’s wearing her apron / uniform.
I interrupted.
“Eh basta! Nakakahiya kaya!”
“Hindi no!” I told her, “At least may trabaho ka sa Dubai.”
“Anyway… tuloy ko ang kwento ko!”
“Hello, Clarice!” Tem greeted.
Clarice then updated Tem with bunch of schoolmates my sister doesn’t remember.
“May dala kaming coupon. Bigay ng company namin. Mura ba dito?” Clarice asked.
“Ummm…
